Amy Sens - Community Missioner
As Community Missioner at Church on the Square, Rev. Amy Sens encourages new and deepening connections among community members, growing a fabric of connection and care. Amy is graduate of the University of Delaware and Harvard Divinity School, and is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ. Before coming to Church on the Square, she was a new church start pastor for six:eight UCC, working to connect young adults to each other, to God, and to making a difference.
In the course of developing six:eight's unique music style, Amy fell in love with bluegrass, leading to the writing and editing of her hymn collection The New Bluegrass Hymnal. More recently she has taken up the upright bass to keep the hootenanny jumpin'. Some of Amy's favorite writers include Anne Lamott, Wendell Berry, Walter Brueggemann, Brian McLaren and Margaret Wheatley. She lives in Southwest Baltimore with her wife Heather, daughter Anne, and their wonderful cat Malcolm.
